Introducing Mr. & Mrs. Shahen: A Behind the Scenes Look of our Wedding Day(s)
A brief note from the author before the post:
Whew! Hey babes, sorry this is a bit late! As I’m sure you understand, sometimes life gets in the way—but at least this is only 4 months opposed to four years. I plan to be posting more here with some different types of content coming soon, but I won’t be as active on Instagram as I find my little corner of the internet here more comfortable without the doom scrolling, so I will be doing photo/post dumps on Instagram monthly-ish and will be updating here more frequently—so subscribe here for my most recent content! Anyways, without any further ado, let’s talk about Adam and I’s wedding! As this has been a much awaited post. I hope y’all enjoy.
As the vibrant hues of autumn transitioned into the crisp elegance of winter, Adam and I found ourselves on the brink of a momentous occasion: our wedding this past November. Planning this special day was definitely a journey filled with anticipation, love, and the intricate weaving together of dreams and reality. We were delighted to announce that our wedding coincided with Pittsburgh's enchanting Light Up Night, making our celebration a magical three-day affair. Each moment had been meticulously planned to reflect our love story and the cherished traditions that have brought us closer.
Our journey began on November 22, 2024. On that very rainy Friday afternoon, Adam and I celebrated our love by exchanging vows at the Beaver County Courthouse in a beautiful and heartfelt ceremony. The atmosphere was filled with joy and anticipation as we stood before our closest friends and family, promising to embark on this new journey together.
Following the ceremony, we enjoyed a cozy dinner at JW Halls, where the atmosphere was warm and inviting, allowing us to savor our first meal as a married couple. After our delicious dinner, we checked into the Sheraton in Station Square, relishing the comfort and convenience of our surroundings.
The next day, November 23, 2024, offered even more unforgettable moments. We treated ourselves to a delightful dinner at the Melting Pot, where we savored an array of delicious fondue dishes. Each bite was a delightful experience, and laughter filled the air as we reminisced about our journey to this special day.
Later that evening, we joined in the festivities of Pittsburgh's Light Up Night, which holds a special place in our hearts. Light Up Night has been a cherished tradition for Adam and me all the way back since 2007, but more recently when we reconnected in 2022, symbolizing the light and warmth we bring to each other’s lives. We were thrilled to share this magical evening with our loved ones, as the city illuminates in celebration of the season and our union. The city sparkled with dazzling lights and holiday cheer, creating a magical backdrop that perfectly complemented our celebrations.
On November 24, we gathered at the Grand Concourse for our reception, a venue chosen for its timeless elegance and grandeur. This day will also mark the moment I unveiled my second, custom made, wedding gown, a cherished symbol of our journey and commitment. At the Grand Concourse, we indulged in an exquisite six-course sit-down meal, each dish artfully prepared and bursting with flavor. It was a culinary journey that delighted our senses and brought us closer together. To conclude the evening, we enjoyed delightful cordials alongside a selection of decadent desserts, making for a truly sweet ending to a remarkable day. The weekend was a perfect picture of love, laughter, and cherished moments that we will hold dear in our hearts for years to come.
