#OOTD Romping Around Town

Ahhhh, firstly I have to say after a week hiatus it's good to be back in the groove! Also sorry for missing my weekly post, I recently moved to be closer to my job as well as the city, so  I have been nesting (this has also given me some great ideas for this weeks upcoming wish-list Wednesday post)! However more on that subject will come on Wednesday, because this post shines the spotlight on what I think is a total go to summer outfit: The Romper.

Romper from Fascino

Romper from Fascino

Okay, so I know a romper can be a bit of a pain if you need to use the ladies room but that's literally this piece's only down fall. I mean it's absolutely perfect for a nice afternoon out about town. So why is this piece so great? Well for one I love rompers in general because they are breezy and cool for the ridiculously hot and humid summer weather. I also love this one in particular because of it's unique cut, I mean lately other than on Fascino I have had trouble finding long sleeve rompers that I really liked. Another bonus about this piece is the material is so soft and flowy therefore not leaving you uncomforable or constricted while bee-bopping around.

Accessories

Of course I won't leave you hanging on some of my other fave pieces. And as always these accessories really make the outfit! The first essential? Shades.

I love these shades for two reasons:

  1. They remind me of a cross between Andy Warhol's and Audrey Hepburn's sunglasses. So they are artsy and chic. Who wouldn't dig it?
  2. I got them for $0.99 at Myrtle Beach. Awesome right?!

Not to mention, they go with just about everything.

Next up is my nude bag that I actually purchased at TJ Maxx. I adore this purse because it is structured with metal ridges that double as a track to lock your belongings inside along with having a soft but industrial look.

And lastly my taupe Tahari heels. The reason I chose these lovelies is due to the fact I had a dinner engagement following this shoot, there for these heel's were just the thing to dress this playful look up a bit, all the while keeping it fun!

One Last Look:

Rompers love them or hate them? Tell me what your feels on them are below!

Liebster Award!

Wow! I have to say this morning was pretty exciting for me considering I woke to an email from Gaby nominating me for this pretty sweet award. So firstly, I'd like to say thank you to her for making my day!

So to my other readers, what is the Liebster Award you ask? Well it is this nifty little award among the blogging community specifically for new bloggers to get to know one another and network. I'm going to be honest I'm not totally sure the followers criteria because some places say under 200 followers and others say under 1,000 followers, so I just split the diff and when I chose my nominees their blogs had under 700 followers. (Note: the links to blogs I chose are the the end of the post, check 'em out, since I like them I bet you will too!).  This being said, lets carry on shall we?

RULES, RULES, RULES:

1. First write a post about you having been nominated for the award. Then in that post mention the person who nominated you along with a link to his/her blog.

2. List 11 facts about yourself. (This part is optional but come on, you know you want to!)

3. There will be 11 questions from the person that nominated you, go ahead and answer them.

4. Nominate 5-11 other new blogs for this award, rule of thumb is if they have under 200 followers, but as I stated above some say as many as 1,000. So take your pick!

5. Make up 11 questions that you would be curious for your nominees to answer.

6. Lastly let your nominees know that you have nominated them and provide them with a link back to your page to ensure they are familiar with the award. Display the award in your post and/or sidebar.

Questions I was asked by Gaby

  1. What is your favorite book or movie and why?   My favorite book is Invisible Monsters by Chuck Palahniuk. The main reason why I love this books is because though it's super twisted, I feel the whole message is self-acceptance, which is a very important thing. Also the ending will floor you it's that good! And just so you know my favorite movie is Little Miss Sunshine, much for the same reason.
  2. If you could be any celebrity for a day who would you be? Mick Jagger.
  3. What is one thing you love about yourself?  I love the fact that I am very determined and driven but also very bubbly and spontaneous. It's a weird combo but it's who I am.

  5. Are you outgoing or shy? I am ridiculously outgoing. Most would consider me a bit of a wild child.

If I had to choose one place I would have to say Banana Republic, I just love their clothing style some of their dresses are just so cute an retro! However I also buy a bunch from Ann Taylor, Forever21, J. Crew, Marshalls, Tradesy, and on occasion I hit the thrift stores.
  9. If you could tell your younger self anything, what would you tell them?  Stop worrying so much about the bullshit people shove your way. You're going to grow up and be just fine and these people that are trying to tell you otherwise are just envious. Just do you.
  10. What is one dream you have? Moving to New York City or Los Angeles, persuing my dream and becoming a fashion writer & photographer. (Though interning at Rolling Stone would be pretty rad too.)

Fascino Part II: The Trunk Show

After last week's post about the e-boutique Fascino I have to admit that I was thrilled to work with Kelly and Stephanie (the owners) again at their debut trunk show this past Sunday. It was truly an absolute blast! While there I got to chill out and have some mimosas, do some power shopping (I bought way to many clothes and jewelry-- I regret nothing!), and of course do what I went there to do all along: Document and capture the experience.

When I first arrived on the scene of Bigham Tavern I could tell that the show was a hit simply because the parking situation was packed! And when I made my way to the back-room, where the show was being held, I was super excited for the girls when I seen what an amazing turn-out they had! Now let me be clear: this was a generously sided venue, and it was jam-packed wall-to-wall with fashionistas, young and old alike, looking at the awesome styles Fascino has to offer. Another cool thing I noticed was what a great job the girls did with decorating the place; like seriously, if they had a store front boutique (which I hope they do in the near future) they would not need interior designers, because they killed it! Another -- and the last one for now -- great thing the ladies did for the trunk show was they had certain outfits, jewelry, and bags there for sale exclusively for trunk show-goers only, so basically you got a sneak peak of what's to come next on their e-boutique.

However, if you unfortunately couldn't make it for any reason, don't be too bummed because you can see the highlights from the show in the slideshow and video provided below! Enjoy!!
