#OOTD: Ready, Set, Flow! (Feat. My latest set from Rocksbox)

As I'm sure all of us Pittsburghers know, recently here in the 'Burgh we have once again had some unseasonably warm weather! Needless to say, I'm not complaining. But due to the gorgeous weather, I took the opportunity to work on a photo shoot for one of the articles I had the honor of writing for the magazine Moda Chic's spring edition! (More on that coming as soon as the magazine is live, but you can check out their winter edition here.) And during this awesome opportunity, I also squeezed a new outfit of the day, in which I styled my latest Rocksbox set.

The Jewelry

As I'm sure many of you are aware (and if you're not, you're about to be!), I've recently had the opportunity to work with and am now sponsored by the awesome company Rocksbox! If you want to learn more about this company, click here. However, in this post, I would like to focus on my most recent and gorgeous set!

First, I would like to talk about these beautiful brown mother of pearl earrings by the fabulous designer Kendra Scott. These where one of the first items I added to my wish-list back in October and I was absolutely thrilled to receive them in this set! As I anticipated, these beauties are absolutely dazzling and definitely pack a wow factor, needless to say these will not be going back when I send back my box!

Next up is the gorgeous Perry Street necklace. If it's sparkle you want, this necklace is the way to go! This was another one of my "granted wishes" from Rocksbox and I do absolutely adore it! The only reason why I'm on the fence about keeping this piece is while it is pretty, it's a bit distinctive so I would probably only wear it once a week.

Lastly, this pretty House of Harlow 1960 bangle. This was my least worn out of my set, and not because I didn't love it. As I stated in my review to Rocksbox this bracelet was one of my favorite pieces however, my wrists are a big to small and the bangle kept slipping off! And though I know I could bend it to fit, with how much it needed bent I was afraid with prolonged wear the bangle might break.

The Outfit

For this spring ready outfit, I decided to pair my Fascino criss-cross cami with some black shorts and Ann Klein heels. The reason why I absolutely love this top for a spring as well as summer piece is because of it's fun and flowy nature. This look makes for a simple and sophisticated look for spring.

9 Fashion Hacks That Will Make You Wonder "Why didn't I think of that?!"

We've all been there: Had to wear a backless dress when our convertible bra was M.I.A. (we really do need more of those in our summer wardrobes). Had our makeup perfect only to see lipstick on our teeth. Or the havoc that breaking in our new flats wreaks on our feet. But no more! Today I'm going to share some of my favorite fashion hacks that I found around the web over the past couple years. Not only were they great ideas, but I also have had a chance to try all 9, and trust me they are major life savers!

1. Magnate strips to organize your metal hair and beauty products

**Note I do not claim ownership to any of these images, I found them all courtesy of Google.

All you need to do is purchase a magnate strip and place it where ever you would like to keep your bobby pins, nail file, tweezers, even an eyelash curler and it works wonders to keep all of these things organized!

2. Wrap rubber bands around the ends of clothes hangers to help garments stay put

Having trouble keeping your camis and tanks on hangers? Simply wrap a rubber band around the end of the hanger and there you have it! A simple barrier to keep your clothes from sliding off.

3. How to solve that bra with backless dress problem

In a pinch and can't find a convertible bra for that adorable backless dress? No fear! All you need is some nylon band. For this trick, just attach the nylon band to the band of your bra and crisscross them and attach them in the front just as you would a convertible bra, and there you have it!

4. Bad hair day remedy: The scarf

The perfect way to stay effortlessly stylish while disguising a bad hair day! Need some ideas on how to tie a head scarf? Check some out here!

5. Never get lipstick on your teeth again with the finger trick

Too keep lipstick from getting on your teeth, just use the finger trick after applying! All you need to do is after applying lipstick, simply close your mouth around your index finger and then draw your finger out which removes any excess lipstick that could get on your teeth.

6. How to keep your zipper up

Have a broken zipper or a loose one that simply won't stay up? All you need is a small, thin key ring. Simply attach it to the zipper pull and loop it over the button, presto! There you have it a fix to a broken zipper!

7. Shower rings to organize scarves

If you are any thing like me, you own a plethora of scarves. Therefore it's a little hard to keep them all organized. However this genius hack I found on Pinterest its the perfect way to keep your scarves organized. You simply place shower curtain rings on either a hanger or rod (as seen above) and then you have the perfect way to organize your scarves.

8. No more smelly shoes

To neutralize odor in your shoes is just make some baking soda sachets and place them in the toe over night. Then you will have odor free shoes! This is an especially good tip for the summer!

9. How to break in flats quickly

We've all been there. We need to break in flats fast but somehow always end up with blistered feet. However this hack will put at stop to that! All you need to do is grab a hair dryer, throw on a pair of thick socks, and then our flats. Next just use the hair dryer to apply heat to the shoes while you are wearing them with the socks for about 5 minutes, this will help stretch them out and make them comfortable!

Beige Beauty (Feat. SheIn)

BURRRR! That is all I have to say about the weather here in Pittsburgh lately! I really can't help but wonder where was all this cold, white, fluffy stuff at Christmas time when it's acceptable?? However I have came to accept that my prediction from December has come true, and our beautiful Indian Summer is in fact over, and winter is now in full swing. But I'm going to try and remain positive about it. Because even though I'm freezing here in the Iceburgh, at least I get to tackle styling for the most difficult season of all, and I have my fabulous coat, from my sponsor SheIn, to help me stay toasty warm. Bring on the layers, this will be fun!

The Coat

Let's just say this beige coat is far from boring. The reason I was so drawn too it (I'm sure you recognize it from my last Wish-list Wednesday post!) is because of it's darling little belt that fastens perfectly into a bow or square knot (as pictured), as well as it's fit and flare cut. Even though I do tend to lean more towards an edgy look, I just needed this super sweet and girly coat in my closet!

And that's not even the best part! This coat is lined with polyester with an outer shell made of cashmere like material. So not only is it light weight and soft to the touch, it is also extraordinarily warm! Therefore it's perfect for be-bopping around little local shops and sipping on my green tea latte while in town. Unfortunately, if you love this coat it is currently sold out, but you can still head over to SheIn and browse what other awesome coats they have, seriously, they have a huge selection, just click here!

The Outfit

Next up is my light burgundy cashmere sweater. I chose this piece because I just love the richness of the color and the pop that it gave my otherwise neutral outfits. It also pairs nicely with my Chanel layered pearl necklace and favorite grey Levi skinnies.

Other Accessories

Love my earrings? They're by Kendra Scott and I got them in one of my Rocksbox sets! What's Rocksbox? Check out my post all about them here, then get your first month FREE by entering the promo code "starkravingchicxoxo"!

This bag is actually my latest purchase from my sponsor SheIn! This little coffee colored, snake skin, bag is perfect for a day out when you want to pack light!

Last but not least, are my Nine West booties. The reason I love these shoes is though they are heels, they're actually very comfortable and have loads of support! So their perfect for a day of walking around and checking out the little shops in town while still keeping you stylish!
